Carved in Stone

It was born, so long ago
On ancient sites, in hallowed groves
It wandered aimless, for a time
In ethers sphere, it grew sublime
Etched in law
Carved in stone
The bastard child
Has found his home
It rose in power, stature grown
Contained within the furrowed brow
Until at last, its shackles gone
As fingers tell of the battles won
You know nothing
Etched in law
Carved in stone
The bastard child
Has found his home

I'm cast out, from traditional earthly trappings
Flesh is weak, through ancient timeless passage
Sharpen the blade
Quicken the steps
Weaken the foe
Remove all doubt
and say goodbye
I am not who I thought I was
We are not slaves to restless thoughts
Sharpen the blade
Quicken the steps
Weaken the foe
Remove all doubt
and say goodbye
Reborn
When did this become a dream
How can this feel so obscene?
The window opens in my mind
The dark become a welcome tide

The Space Within
06:42
|

Travelling at break neck speed, within in the mind
There's call for inspiration, light years ahead of time
Catch a break across the wind, landslide of the divine
The dark expanse unfolds syntax of the kaleidoscopic blind
Is this an oasis?
Have I found a place to rest?
Or is this the new normal, or just another test
Within the cave by the stream, gazes the third eye
Light refracts on rippled waves as space and time combine
Shattering the earthly tides, that otherwise would bind
We gaze upon the higher plane, a glimpse of the divine
Is this an oasis?
Have I found a place to rest?
Or is this the new normal, or just another test
Time, slows each breath
It feels so long that I've been under, could it follow into death
Mind, wants control
But the aliens inside my brain make sure to sear the soul
Face, angry scream
Every emotion and archetype captured in one place
Find, peace of soul, its intertwining spell has woven beauty over me
Is this an oasis?
Have I found a place to rest?
Or is this the new normal, or just another test

Veins

I keep this monkey on back, to remind me I'm alive
But its been burning at my wings, while I try to fly
I feed him every day, with the things he likes to chew
But regrettably, upon my shoulder, I couldn't see how much he grew
I'm not looking forward, always looking back
I'm not staring upwards, more concerned with all I lack
And this steel blimp will stay grounded
My steel blimp keeps me grounded
I have this acid in my veins to remind me to still dream
Teaches to segment and sew, the unity within the mind
Things always seem so fractious, when we look at it askew
The writing that's been on the wall, fades to a darker hue
Now I'm looking forward, head up in the stars
The difference of perspective can show you who you are
This steel blimp will stay grounded
My steel blimp keeps me grounded
Dare to dream
Dream a dream that takes you away
To a brand new day
All the while, grounding you in who you are
You are not far
